A man turned into Megamind after a hair transplant (4 photos + 2 videos)
On January 16, Kana Flex underwent a hair transplant procedure. The Briton chose a London clinic whose services are used by celebrities. The dancer and artist showed his subscribers the results of the operation. However, instead of congratulations and compliments, he saw many negative comments.
Some said that Kana looked like Megamind, others saw a resemblance to Roger from American Dad, as well as SpongeBob.
The man doesn't take jokes to heart: "I know I look weird, but it's been a while. I look like an alien now."
He also talked about the hair transplant process itself.
"No, I didn't go to Turkey. I went to a clinic in Wembley. I arrived at about 8.30am and had a consultation with the doctors first. We discussed all the details that were important to me."
The hair follicles were taken from the scalp at the back of his head and then implanted on the top of his head.
"To be honest, I didn't want to move my hairline, because it would have required more grafts - one graft is two hairs. I had 4,000 grafts, so 8,000 hairs were implanted in my head."
The dancer recalled how he was given anesthesia several times: "I felt like my head was inflating like a balloon. However, after a while, these sensations disappeared."
According to the Briton, the operation was easy and took about four hours. After the procedure, he wears a bandage to prevent swelling from spreading to his face and eyes.
Turkish hair transplant specialist Emrah Cinik noted that swelling is usually harmless and goes away within a few days. It can serve as an “indicator that the body has begun the healing process.”
His clinic’s website states the following: “Any surgical procedure, including hair transplantation, causes tissue damage, which triggers an inflammatory response. This reaction leads to a buildup of fluid and immune cells in the injured area, which can spread to the face. To minimize pain during surgery, anesthetics are injected into the scalp. These solutions, as well as some of the products used for the graft, can accumulate and contribute to swelling.”
On January 19, Flex wrote that the swelling was "going down to my eye," adding, "I look like I went ten rounds with Mike Tyson."
