In China, an acrobat fell several meters in front of an audience, Need To Know reports.
The incident occurred during a performance in Luohe City, Henan Province, on Wednesday, March 11. A video taken by a bystander captured the moment the acrobat was performing an acrobatic routine with a hoop attached to a crane cable. The footage shows her failing to perform one of her stunts and falling to the horrified cheers of the crowd.
Authorities later reported that the acrobat was immediately taken to the hospital. She suffered minor injuries and is not in danger.
According to one witness, the acrobat landed on a thin metal frame, which cushioned the impact. "Don't worry, she's fine. She didn't suffer any serious injuries, only the frame was bent." "She fell on her stomach and probably broke a rib," a showgoer wrote.
However, many people online were outraged that the girl didn't use a safety rope. One user wrote that small troupes performing in small towns often include spectacular but very dangerous high-altitude stunts in their routines.
