There were two pilots and a navigator on board. 
Eyewitnesses reported the crash of a Sukhoi Superjet 100 in the Kolomensky district.
A test flight, the aircraft was after repairs. The aircraft was manufactured in 2015, belonged to Gazprom-Avia. There were three crew members on board.
The plane was heading to Vnukovo Airport. Before the crash, it sent out a distress signal and began circling, using up fuel.
Here's what a local resident said:
Planes are always flying above us, I can tell them apart. This time I was standing outside, and suddenly I heard a sound, but it was strange. I went out to look and saw a plane flying very low from the Oka River towards Bolshoye Karasevo, a village across the forest from us. <...> a passenger plane, quite large. It fell behind the forest, and then a column of smoke rose up there.
Another comment from an eyewitness:
The Ministry of Emergency Situations is checking the information about the plane crash in the Moscow region, the department's office for the Moscow region reported. Later, they confirmed the crash of the airliner: it crashed in the forest, two pilots and a navigator died. There are no civilian casualties.
Official comment from Rosaviatsia:
This afternoon, at about 15:00 Moscow time, a Superjet 100 crashed in the Moscow region.
The plane was flying without passengers - according to preliminary data, there were three people on board the aircraft.
It is planned that the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) will investigate the crash, with the participation of specialists from the Federal Air Transport Agency.
Emergency services and security forces are working at the scene of the accident. The head of Kolomna, Alexander Grechishchev, also arrived there. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact of the plane crash. One of the versions of the plane crash is engine failure.
