“We have a secular state, we don’t live according to Sharia”: in St. Petersburg, visitors caused a scandal during their arrest (2 photos + 2 videos)
They grabbed the security forces by their clothes, shouted at them, and did not allow them to close the door to the official car.
In St. Petersburg, employees wanted to take the detainee to the department - in the video she is wearing a black and white coat. A woman with a child in her arms joined her, climbed into the police car and began screaming.
The employees began to pull her out and a whole crowd came running to the noise. The police were grabbed by the sleeves and screaming heart-rendingly. In general, a heap has formed. Judging by the voices behind the camera, local activists were among the defenders of the detainee.
At some point, the woman holding the child released her hands and the baby fell onto the asphalt. Then the screams increased even more, although the video shows that it was the lady who dropped it.
The police were demanded that they take the second woman with them, but the officers refused and said that they were only taking one person to the department. And the baby stays with his grandmother. Apparently, she was trying to get into the car.
As a result, tired of the shouting, the employee said:
We have a secular state, we do not live according to Sharia.
The person filming all this turned out to be a relative of the women; he was not detained. But both ladies were eventually put into the car. As the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs later stated:
Police officers brought two citizens of one of the neighboring countries to the department for violating immigration laws. After drawing up administrative protocols, both were released.
