Russian Woman Dies on Vacation in Egypt After Medical Treatment at Hotel Clinic (4 Photos)

36-year-old Anastasia became ill while staying at a 5-star hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh, where she was vacationing with her mother and six-year-old daughter. On the eve of her flight home, her temperature jumped to 40 degrees. The hotel staff refused to call an ambulance, directing the guests to the hotel’s medical room.





Happened to 36-year-old Anastasia from the Bashkir city of Salavat. At the beginning of March, Anastasia flew to Sharm el-Sheikh on vacation for nine days with her mother and six-year-old daughter. They stayed at the five-star Pyramisa Hotel. The vacation went well, all the horror began on the eve of the flight to Russia.



On the last day of vacation, the family swam in the sea, had lunch at the hotel (the whole family ate the same food), after which Anastasia’s temperature sharply jumped to 40 degrees. The girl's mother immediately asked the hotel staff to call an ambulance, but, according to her, the staff refused to do so. Instead of an ambulance that would have taken the patient to a public hospital, they were advised to go to a clinic on site. By that time, the girl could no longer walk without assistance; they helped her get to the medical room.



The mother of the deceased said that the doctor gave Nastya an unknown injection and gave her an antipyretic pill. Upon returning to the hotel, the exhausted girl’s temperature dropped to 33 degrees, dark spots appeared on her body and her legs began to lose weight. The hotel staff refused to call an ambulance again, but called again the same doctor from the hotel’s medical office.

He stated that the dark spots are caused by tanning, and the rest will go away.



The woman was able to get her daughter admitted to a state hospital only towards nightfall. Anastasia, who was already unconscious, was immediately taken to intensive care. By morning she died. Egyptian doctors said the cause was cardiac arrest.

Now Anastasia’s body, through Moscow and Ufa, is being delivered to Salavat. Russian forensic experts will have to find out the cause of the girl’s death.

Nastya worked as a manicurist in her hometown; she left behind a six-year-old daughter, elderly parents and a husband.
