Woman couldn't wear shoes for months after botched tattoo removal (4 photos)
Glasgow resident Anya Koursaris suffered serious consequences after undergoing laser tattoo removal on her foot. Immediately after removing the special bandage, Anya discovered that her foot was covered in numerous purulent blisters.
“My foot looked deformed, there was not a single area where the tattoo was without blisters,” she recalls.
The largest blister on her ankle was 6.5 cm wide. The swelling was so severe that the woman could not wear shoes for several weeks, and the pain prevented her from sleeping and moving normally.
Anya was especially outraged by the clinic's attitude to what had happened. The staff only reported that blisters "occasionally appear", recommending that she treat the burns at home with antiseptic cream. However, Anya had previously undergone tattoo removal procedures three times in other clinics and had never encountered such complications. Complete healing took about 12 weeks, during which the woman experienced severe suffering.
With her story, the woman warns others: before removing a tattoo, you need to carefully choose a clinic, check the qualifications of the specialists and not ignore alarming symptoms after the procedure. She advises paying special attention to reviews from other clients and whether the institution has the appropriate licenses.
