A terrifying moment: a 13-year-old schoolgirl hung on a Ferris wheel (5 photos + 1 video)
On December 4, in Rekhti, Pradesh, India, a 13-year-old girl fell out of a Ferris wheel cabin and was left hanging 18 meters in the air. A video of the incident has surfaced online.
To lower the child, the operators did not stop the wheel, as it could only move in one direction. The workers shouted instructions to the girl, and she can be seen adjusting her position so that her legs and arms rested on the metal frame.
When the wheel started to pick up speed and the girl found herself head down, she held on with all her might. Fortunately, this story ended well.
According to The Sun, the girl fell out of her cabin due to a sharp jolt.
Local authorities confirmed that the child was unharmed, but the operators did not have the proper permits for the ride.
Last month, a ride at an amusement park in the US broke down, leaving people waiting for hours for rescuers. The Sol Spin at Knott's Berry Farm park stopped around 2pm, leaving 22 thrill-seekers hanging in the air until 4.30pm.
Two women were taken to hospital "as a precaution". Several people limped when they got to the ground, and one was wheeled out in a wheelchair.
The Sol Spin ride consists of six swinging arms that can rise up to six stories and rotate 360 degrees. It opened in 2017 and was made by Dutch company Mondial Rides.
