Dog Bites Owner's Nose Out of Fireworks (6 photos)
Trainer Charlotte Oscarsson lost her nose on New Year's Eve 2023. That night, her dog Prince was scared by fireworks. The woman tried to calm her pet down, but he attacked her. Despite what happened, the Swedish resident did not give up on her pet.
The 35-year-old woman said that Prince was scared by fireworks. When she tried to kiss him before bed, the pet panicked and attacked her.
She lost her nose completely. Doctors in Sweden were unable to help, so further treatment is taking place in Stuttgart, Germany.
Charlotte shares details of her long and painful recovery with her followers.
"Many people have noticed the 'swelling' that has appeared on my forehead, but it is not a swelling, but an important part of the 'Nose 2.0' project," she wrote under one of the posts.
An expander was inserted into her forehead to stretch the skin and get a flap to reconstruct the nose.
"So if you see a huge forehead and a potato passing by, don't be alarmed - it's just my future nose," the Swede added.
The woman also explained why did not give up Prince, a Karelian bear dog known for hunting bears.
"Many people are wondering what happened to the pet that bit me, whether we still have him or whether he was put to sleep. The answer is simple - he is still with us."
The woman admitted that she does not blame the pet: "He is an animal, and I should not have created such conditions for him. Now he lives more solitary. For example, he is not allowed to sleep with us, and we give him more space when he is tired or scared. We try not to create difficulties for him and for ourselves and avoid close contact," added Oscarsson.
