It turns out that there is such a “Noah syndrome” in psychiatry, when a person has an urgent need to save all animals, even if he does not have the opportunity to keep them. 
In short, the story is classic, the neighbors were tired of the terrible stench and constant noise and simply complained to the police. When they arrived at the apartment, they were met by a 68-year-old madam, her 52-year-old partner and a lot of emaciated living creatures.
Some of the animals were on the verge of starvation and were seriously ill. Police found several dead animals in the bathroom. In total, in an apartment of 70 square meters, they counted 159 still living cats and 7 dogs in critical condition.
The court sentenced a couple of crazy “rescuers” to a year’s probation, banned them from having any animals at all, and ordered them to pay 150,000 euros to the animal rights activists who took the unfortunate pets.
The woman said in court that animals “were the love of her life.” She added that she would appeal the ban on keeping pets. “Who in my place would not challenge such injustice? It's like telling a woman she won't have any more children."
This couple was already tried in 2014, when they managed to keep 13 cats and one dog in an apartment of 18 square meters.
