UFC fighter Conor McGregor appears in court for rape case from six years ago (4 photos)

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor is in deep trouble - he is accused of rape.



It happened in December 2018. The victim Nikita Ni Liamhin was getting drunk with her friends in honor of the upcoming Christmas and called Conor. They already knew each other. The fighter came to pick her up in a car, picked her up with her friend and they all went to a hotel to continue the fun. They were also joined by McGregor's friend James Lawrence.

Conor was driving, and the three of them were drinking in the car and sniffing white powder. So when they arrived at the hotel, they were pretty charged up - and it didn't end well.

At the hotel, Ni Liamhin went to the bedroom with McGregor, but when he started undressing her, she immediately backed out and said that nothing would happen between them. Allegedly because she suddenly started her period.

I tried to convince him that I didn't want to have sex and wasn't going to do anything like that. He just wouldn't take no for an answer.



The heated wrestler was not satisfied with this: Conor allegedly pinned the lady to the bed and performed a choke hold - after which she agreed to everything.

Then Mr. McGregor turns the girl over, grabs her arm in a lock and pulls her by the neck. She cannot breathe. And he does it again.

By the third time, she gives in. She can no longer resist it. During this, he says: "Now you know what it was like to be in the octagon when I fell three times," the victim's lawyer ranted at a recent court hearing.

Afterwards, the offended lady went home and her mother called an ambulance. At the hospital, the girl was diagnosed with several bruises and a scratch on her chest. But she did not file a rape report, perhaps she was afraid of publicity and the negativity that would pour onto her family. After all, she lived with her boyfriend and 7-year-old daughter. Why she went to a hotel with McGregor is a separate question.



Later, Ni Liamhin finally came to her senses and filed a civil lawsuit against McGregor for several million euros. James Lawrence is also a defendant in it: allegedly, he raped her after Conor. The athlete's defense and he himself believe that the lady simply wants to shake money out of a famous person - otherwise why did she wait so long before going to court.

According to rough estimates, the trial of this case will take about 2 weeks.
