The media associates this with the anniversary of the 1972 terrorist attack at the Olympics in Germany.
This morning, shots were fired at the Israeli consulate in Munich. It is located a few meters from the Documentation Center for the History of National Socialism.
The criminal started shooting at the police with an old long-barreled gun. In response, the security forces also opened fire and eliminated the terrorist. He did not have time to kill or injure anyone.
Details emerged later: the shooting was started by 18-year-old Emra I. He arrived in Munich in a car with a license plate from the Austrian city of Salzburg. The police claim that the Austrian secret services were already interested in him and considered him a radical Islamist.
This incident coincided with the anniversary of the terrorist attack at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
On September 5, militants entered the Olympic Village and took 9 Israeli athletes hostage. The terrorists demanded the release of 234 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons. On the night of September 6, an operation to free the hostages began. It failed, 11 captured athletes died. At the same time, 5 terrorists were eliminated, and three were arrested.
German journalists see a direct connection with today's shooting. But local authorities say: "The police have not established a direct connection between the incident and the anniversary of the terrorist attack."
