A guy got a skin disease just by trying on clothes in a store (2 photos + 1 video)
Officially — the nastiness of the day. 
The story is extremely nasty, just plain ugh. But it's hard to pass by, so prepare yourself mentally.
The guy tried on a few things in the store, bought them and didn't wash them before wearing them. A couple of days later, his entire face was covered in raised nodules on his skin. He was really scared, went to the doctors, had a bunch of tests done and found out that along with the new clothes, he also got molluscum contagiosum. This condition is dangerous for people with weakened immune systems, and scratching the rash can spread the virus throughout the body.
While the condition often goes away on its own, it can last anywhere from six months to two years.
Molluscum contagiosum is extremely common in the United States, and the exact incidence is unknown because it goes away on its own. On average, about six million Americans are infected with molluscum contagiosum each year.
This is a viral infection caused by one of the smallpox viruses that affects the skin and sometimes the mucous membranes. You can get it in any number of ways, from sexual contact to simply trying on clothes that someone with the disease has previously worn.
And yes, the store was a thrift store.
Dermatologists warn that all clothes must be washed after purchase. At the factory, fabrics are treated with various dirt-repellent and water-repellent reagents, which can cause at least irritation, redness and itching. In addition, before you, the clothes could have been tried on by a person with a bunch of skin diseases - for example, you can easily catch ringworm.
