Lions attacked a large crocodile (3 photos + 1 video)
A safari guide captured a pride of lions attacking a crocodile in Zambia.
An unusual lion hunt was captured on video in the country's oldest and largest national park, Kafue National Park, located on the Busanga Plains. In the video, a dozen lions surrounded a huge crocodile and attacked it.
One of the lionesses immobilized the reptile by grabbing it with her teeth. Then she tried to pull it out of the ditch, but it twisted and tried to bite her back. Then the other lions intervened and pinned the crocodile to the ground with their paws.
Eventually, they managed to move their prey a little and turn it on its back, which made it much easier to bite through the thick and tough skin. After that, the pride tore the predator apart and began to eat.
Lions like to hunt in groups because they know that the advantage in numbers increases the chances of success. A pride of lions is far more deadly than a lone predator, especially when it comes to large prey or dangerous predators like crocodiles.
