The Chinese tricked about 100 women from Thailand into coming to Georgia, where they are being held in slavery on an “egg farm” (6 photos)

Only a few Thai women managed to free themselves from slavery - others do not have the money or opportunities to do so.





Thailand has turned to the Chinese police for help. A Chinese criminal group has lured about a hundred Thai women to Georgia by deception. These women responded to an ad about earning money by being a surrogate mother abroad. They were promised official terms (a contract covering all expenses for documents and travel, plus a salary for surrogacy of 400-600 thousand Thai baht), but in fact they were cruelly deceived.

According to one of the victims, she went to Georgia with 10 other women and the group leader. The group did not know each other. They were given $500 each and issued tourist visas, after which they were transported via Dubai to Armenia. There, the group stayed in a hotel. They stayed in the country for three days, they were taken to different tourist places, where they were constantly photographed for the report.



Then the women and the leader went to Georgia. The train journey and the road to the destination took about 10 hours. Upon arrival, all the women's passports were taken away and they began to settle in small houses.





There were 4 houses in the area where the group arrived, each of them contained Thai women who had arrived here several months ago. In total, these houses contained about a hundred Thai women, many of whom were in poor condition and desperately wanted to go home.



Here the newcomers finally realized that they had been deceived. There was no talk of surrogacy. All women were kept on hormone therapy, with their eggs being removed monthly. This procedure is painful and quite dangerous to health, especially if it is carried out by unqualified specialists.

To remove eggs, women are attacked by hormones - with such therapy, the number of mature eggs increases several times. By removing this biomaterial, women are used as donors, without concern for their further recovery. During the entire stay on the territory of the center, not a single married couple came, and yet the Thai women were promised that they would bear children for those who are unable to conceive in the traditional way. The collected eggs were most likely sold to other countries as material for in vitro fertilization.

Several dozen women in the center, having donated eggs every month, have significantly undermined their health, however, having no documents, they remain hostages of the criminal group. The "workers" could have been freed by paying 70 thousand baht - the center's managers explained that they spent this money on taking them out of the country, processing documents, etc. However, most do not have such money.



One of the women still managed to return to her homeland when her family transferred the required bribe to the gang leader's account. This happened in September last year. After that, through Interpol, three more women were pulled out of slavery.



They successfully returned to Thailand on January 30. However, dozens of their compatriots remain in Georgia, and the human rights organization is urging the Thai police to begin cooperating with Chinese law enforcement to eliminate the gang and return the slaves from the "egg farm" home. The organization is headed by former Thai Interior Minister Pavena Hongsakul, so the country hopes that the case will move forward quickly - after all, three women have already been pulled out through Interpol.

Thanks to the Pavena Foundation, 153 Thais who fell victim to human traffickers were rescued in 2024, the Bangkok Post reports, citing the human rights group.
