Famous Panamanian influencer and model, 27-year-old Gracie Bohn, said that she is forced to use private jets, as regular airlines cannot offer her comfortable conditions for flying.
According to the model, standard seats on commercial airlines are too narrow to accommodate her figure. With hips measuring 55 inches (about 140 centimeters), Gracie has repeatedly encountered situations where she had to book two or even three seats at once to feel comfortable. Moreover, she claims that some airlines literally "forbade" her from flying because of her size, which forced the model to look for alternative solutions for her trips.
"Every time I flew, I had to buy two or three seats," Gracie shared in one of her videos.
She also said that she tried to initiate a campaign to increase the size of seats on airplanes, but her initiative was not supported. As a result, according to the model, private flights remained the only solution for her.
The topic of comfortable conditions for plus-size passengers became widely discussed after Gracie's statement. Last year, the model already made public statements that even in the first class of regular airlines she was cramped, and called on airlines to take into account the needs of people with non-standard shapes. She released a video from the airport, where she called on airlines to increase the size of seats.
"Planes need to have bigger seats so that big girls like me can fly comfortably," Gracie emphasized.
Gracie's Instagram post has collected millions of views and a lot of comments. While many followers support her call for changes in airlines, some users believe that this is the model's problem.
