The man Alexander decided to reload his gun early in the morning of April 18 and accidentally fired a shot that hit the wall of a neighbor’s apartment. The Russian's neighbor Yana woke up from a loud sound and walked around the entire apartment.
Soon the woman discovered a bullet hole in the children's room, in which her six-year-old son was sleeping at the time of the shot. The bullet allegedly passed next to the child's bed, punched a hole in the mattress, ricocheted off the floor and went through the wall in the bathroom.
On the advice of her husband, Yana called the police. Alexander managed to leave before law enforcement arrived. A neighbor said she saw him get into a car with a gun. A few hours later, the shooter was detained. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two administrative protocols were drawn up against him for violating the rules of safe handling of weapons and rules of use. He made no attempt to contact his neighbors.
The police told Yana that the neighbor had no right to store weapons in the apartment without a safe. According to law enforcement officers, Alexander took the gun in a sleepy state and accidentally reloaded it. “I’ll be honest, we immediately left the apartment for the village. Everything in the apartment is the same. I'm still in shock. I didn’t sleep all night and I can’t be there now, I can’t sort it all out,” says Yana.
