Chinese crossover almost burned its owner (5 photos + 1 video)

The owner of the Chinese crossover GAC and his wife were traveling from Orenburg to Moscow along the M12 highway from relatives. During the drive to the gas station, smoke poured out from under the hood and the driver's door burst into flames. The driver was unable to stop quickly due to faulty brakes and, in addition, the seat belt was jammed. While the man was trying to get out, he received burns to his face, arms and legs, all his clothes stuck to the burned parts of his body, the hair on his head was burned, and at that time his wife was able to jump out of the car.





Gas station employees helped extinguish the crossover. The car owner spent three large 50-liter water cylinders. The bottom and engine of the crossover were completely burned out. What caused the fire is still unknown. Right before the trip to Orenburg, the car underwent maintenance and everything was in order. The crossover is not even a year old, it was purchased in December last year for 25 thousand dollars, and I got behind the wheel in February. The driver has already contacted the dealer and directly the manufacturer GAC. They promised to conduct an examination.

The driver is now in a Moscow hospital with serious burns to his face, arms and legs. He will remain in the ward at least until the end of the week. By luck, the couple did not take their children on this trip. The rear doors of the car became jammed during the fire.
