Santosh Lohara believed that if you bite a poisonous reptile back, it would neutralize the poison.

In India, a snake bit Santosh Lohara, but he did not lose his head and bit it back three times. Soon the reptile died, and the man survived.

In Bihar, a snake bit a worker twice, who got angry at it and bit back three times.

A labourer working on a railway line was sleeping in his camp when a poisonous snake came towards him. Instead of panicking, an enraged Santosh grabbed it with an iron rod and bit it not once but three times, eventually killing the snake.

"There is a belief in my village that if a snake bites you, you should bite it twice to neutralize the poison," he replied after being questioned about his action.

Santosh trusted the local lore and took such drastic action.

As soon as the incident was reported, the railway workers rushed Santosh to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The news of this unusual incident spread quickly and a crowd gathered outside the hospital to see the victim and hear his story. Many locals speculated that the reptile might not have been venomous, otherwise Santosh's life could have been in grave danger.

According to the attending physician, Dr. Satish Chandra, the man, who hails from Jharkhand, is now recovering and is out of danger.
