The men wanted to get rich with oil, but ended up starting a fire
An explosion occurred at an oil pipeline in Homs province in central Syria. According to preliminary data, the emergency occurred as a result of several unknown people trying to drain oil by illegally “crashing” directly into the pipe.
The official Syrian news agency SANA reported that a serious fire broke out on an oil pipeline in the Al-Furklus area in Homs province, however, it did not give any reasons for the emergency. Another news agency, IRNA, published a video of a huge fire torch filmed by firefighters arriving at the scene.
In turn, the North Press agency, citing the semi-official Syrian newspaper Al-Watan, reported that the cause of the emergency was attackers who tried to illegally “crash” into the pipeline near the city of Al-Furklus, east of Homs. Rescuers who arrived at the scene of the emergency found a generator and a tanker there.
As a result of the pipeline explosion, according to the publication, one of the would-be thieves was killed and others were injured. It is reported that rescuers have already managed to put out the fire.
