Apologies and politeness didn't stop the recidivist from stealing a taxi dispatcher's bag
In Russia, near Kaliningrad, a man robbed a taxi dispatcher with the words “a thousand apologies.”
In Neman, in the Kaliningrad region, perhaps the most gallant thief in the world was caught. As the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, the 21-year-old repeat offender chose the taxi service dispatcher as his target: he entered the office, hesitated and, shouting “a thousand apologies,” grabbed his bag. The guy’s “catch” was $200, most of which he managed to spend on strong drinks.
“A 21-year-old local resident, who had been convicted of theft seven times, was detained in hot pursuit. The police seized part of the stolen funds from the attacker—just over $40,” the report says.
It turned out that the same guy committed another crime the night before robbing the woman: he broke a supermarket window with a stone, climbed inside and went to “gut” the cash register, but it turned out to be empty. Now two new cases have been opened against the young criminal - under articles “Robbery” and “Attempted theft.”
