Beach worker in Alanya beats up a tourist
In Turkey, a beach worker who rented out sun loungers beat up a tourist. The man did this shortly after the vacationer refused to rent a sun lounger.
The brawl took place on Friday, May 16, on Damlatas Beach in Antalya. According to local media, the traveler asked the beach worker the price for a sun lounger, but decided to refuse, considering it too high.
The tourist simply left the towel on the sand and headed to the sea, but the worker demanded that the man settle down in another place, and when the foreigner refused, he beat him with his hands and feet in front of other vacationers.
The owner of the sun lounger rental, Serhan Kocaroğlu, said that the tourist was Russian and under the influence of alcohol. According to him, he used force against the Russian after he was the first to throw a sun lounger at a Turkish client.
Alanya County Governor Fatih Urkmezer announced that Koçaroğlu's business had been closed following the incident.
"This does not reflect our understanding of tourism," he said.
