A 38-year-old Shymkent resident decided to prove to a friend that he could swallow a large number of pens. After a while, he became ill. The man was urgently hospitalized and underwent surgery. 
When an argument went too far
A Shymkent resident decided to risk his health over a bet with a friend and swallowed 26 pens. A few hours later, the man experienced abdominal pain and was taken to the hospital. Doctors were in shock. They spent two hours using an endoscope to remove the stationery from the irrational patient.
The man's condition has stabilized. The Shymkent Health Department reported that he is now home.
