In Las Vegas, a teacher beat a student for making a racist remark (4 photos + 1 video)

A video of the incident that occurred at a high school in east Las Vegas has appeared on the Internet. Учитель подрался с учеником: тот назвал его ниггером. That is, the n-word, as they say nowadays in the USA.
The incident happened Thursday in the cafeteria at Valley High School in east Las Vegas. In footage posted on social media, 27-year-old Re'Kwon Smith repeatedly hits a student who made a racist comment.
Smith, a substitute teacher in the Clark School District since November 2023, was at Valley High at the time of the altercation.

Video from the scene shows both sides throwing punches at each other before the student falls to the ground.
Smith will be removed from the district's substitute teacher pool.
Video footage of the incident is being used as evidence by local police, who have arrested both the student and the teacher.
Police confirmed Smith will be removed from the substitute teacher pool and will no longer be eligible to teach in the district. His opponent is recovering from a fight at a local hospital.
The incident occurred in the cafeteria at Valley High School on the east side of Las Vegas.
The administration of the school where the fight occurred made an official statement about the incident to the parents of its students:
“Dear parents. The police are investigating this matter. As soon as we have information, we will definitely report it. Violence in any form is unacceptable and goes against fundamental principles of education and respect. Any altercation between teacher and student is thoroughly investigated and appropriate disciplinary action is taken.”
According to court documents, Smith faces multiple criminal charges, including battery causing great bodily injury, assault on a school student on school property, threatening to cause bodily injury to a public school student and obstructing school attendance.
