The girl was saved from a pack of dogs by random passers-by.

In Novy Urengoy in December 2023, a pack of dogs attacked a child. The girl was walking in the yard and at some point became interested in the dogs that were lying in the snow. First the animals started barking and then attacked the child. The schoolgirl was wearing a jacket; the dogs tore her clothes and bit her legs. The girl was diagnosed with multiple injuries. The girl was rescued by passers-by.

The head of Novy Urengoy, Andrei Voronov, came to the hospital to see the girl. He wished the girl health, and discussed the conditions of rehabilitation with her mother. The prosecutor's office and the investigative committee also became interested in the case.

Since the dogs turned out to be strays, the city administration is responsible for them. The department opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence, that is, failure or improper performance by an official of his duties, if this resulted in a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens). The prosecutor's office went to court and demanded compensation for moral damages in favor of the daughter.

- The court satisfied the demands of the prosecutor's office and recovered compensation in the amount of 10 thousand dollars from the municipality. The court decision has not entered into legal force, the supervisory authority commented.
