The power of parental faith and children's friendship
After the accident, the boy was diagnosed with severe brain and lung damage, and his chances of recovery were considered minimal. Despite the dire prognosis, the boy's mother did not give up and continued to seek any means to help her son. Her efforts bore fruit.
Eight-year-old Liu Chuxi woke up after 55 days in a coma following a car accident. The incident occurred last November in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. As a result of the accident, the boy suffered severe brain and lung injuries, and doctors assessed his chances of recovery as extremely low.
The boy's mother did not give up and continued to search for ways to help her son. On the doctors' recommendation, she played him familiar sounds every day—school music, lesson recordings, and voice and video messages from his classmates, recorded by his teacher. In the videos, the children asked their friend to wake up, sang his favorite songs, and told him stories from school.
After 45 days, Liu began to respond to sounds, and on the 55th day, he regained consciousness and was able to move his arm. The boy's story went viral on Chinese social media and became a symbol of support and undying hope.
