The behavior of Chinese figure skaters will be investigated because of a plush rocket
Chinese ice dance skaters Ren Junfei and Xing Jianingwo have drawn the ire of the International Skating Union (ISU) by showing fans a stuffed toy shaped like a DF-61 ballistic missile.
The International Skating Union (ISU) is investigating after two Chinese skaters had an object resembling a toy ballistic missile thrown onto the ice during the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Chongqing.
Ice dance skaters Ren Junfei and Xing Jianingwo were sitting with a stuffed replica of China's new DF-61 missile in the kiss-n-cut area while waiting for judging.
— The ISU is aware that among the stuffed animals thrown onto the ice by spectators following the performance at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in China on October 25, there was likely an inappropriate toy, the ISU told the Associated Press.
The DF-61 is a new Chinese-made, nuclear-capable, land-based intercontinental ballistic missile that was unveiled at a military parade last month.
