A drunken British MP attacked a voter during a conversation
A drunk British MP beat up a constituent during a conversation on the street. The conflict arose because of a dispute about the cancellation of a winter fuel surcharge and the closure of a local bridge for repairs
Mark Amesbury attacked a 42-year-old man in Cheshire while he was waiting for a taxi. The footage shows how the MP knocked the victim down with one blow, and then continued to beat him on the ground.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the footage "shocking" and demanded that the Labour Party take action against the MP, the article says.
The party called the incident "a police matter", Sky News notes. However, when another video of the attack appeared, Amesbury was suspended from work.
The MP himself said that he "felt threatened on the street after an evening walk with friends." He added that he himself contacted the police after the incident, declining to comment further.
