In Tatarstan, 23-year-old Emilia has been seeking justice for a year after a serious injury she sustained at the Olimp Ice Palace in December 2024. 
According to the girl, a group of young men cut her off while she was skating. One of the young men began to fall, knocking Emilia down, and accidentally sliding his skate across her wrist. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras: the footage shows the victim screaming in pain, but the man did not approach her and continued skating.
Emilia underwent surgery a year later, but was unable to regain finger movement. She is raising a child alone and is now unable to work or lead a normal life.
After contacting the police, the incident was ruled an accident and criminal proceedings were refused. Furthermore, according to Emilia, the young man's mother scolded her for contacting law enforcement.
Treatment is costing the girl a significant amount: one session with a rehabilitation therapist costs $15, and she must attend several times a week. Emilia is not giving up and continues to seek justice for those responsible.
