A tourist nearly died while vacationing in Thailand after getting into an emergency situation on the water. Victoria, a 38-year-old Muscovite, was on the island of Phuket when she decided to go kayaking. 
While on a kayaking trip, weather conditions suddenly worsened. The tourist was caught in a strong current and then engulfed by a powerful wave. She lost control of the vessel.
The situation worsened when the kayak drifted toward a rocky shore. An out-of-control boat, along with a passenger, was thrown by a wave onto the sharp rocks of one of the islands.

Fortunately, the woman was wearing a life jacket, which contained her mobile phone in a waterproof case. This circumstance helped her survive. The tourist was able to send her geolocation to her family, who immediately called emergency services.
As it turned out, the victim suffered serious abrasions on her arms and other parts of her body, but no fractures. Her condition has stabilized, and Victoria has already given her first comments on the incident.
