A Pittsburgh hotel owner heard gunfire and went outside to investigate. It turned out to be the worst decision of his life.
51-year-old Rakesh Bhagavan (who came to the States 30 years ago) went out to investigate the shooting in the parking lot of his motel.
It turned out that his guest, Stanley Eugene West, 37, who had been staying at the motel for a week with his girlfriend and child, had had an argument with his girlfriend that day. The young woman got behind the wheel, but Stanley lost his temper and shot her in the neck. He then killed the motel owner and drove away. The deceased only managed to ask, "Are you okay, buddy?"
During the arrest, Stanley shot an officer and was seriously wounded, but survived. His girlfriend is also alive, but remains in the hospital. Pictured here is an inquisitive Rakesh Bhagavan surrounded by his family.
