A man proved that people who said he would not find love were wrong (6 photos)
Tattoo and piercing fanatic dubbed the "world's most modified man" has fallen in love.
Marcelo "B-Boy" De Souza Ribeiro is known for his bizarre tattoos and invasive body modifications, including metal teeth, skin implants and a forked tongue.
He spent about $36,000 on his transformation to look like an "alien devil." 98% of his body was changed. In particular, Marcelo removed his index finger, excess skin and muscle, and cut his hand in half.
Now, the 41-year-old has debuted his new girlfriend, whom he calls "the one."
"Her name is Debi, she's 33, and we've been together for a year," the tattoo artist told the publication. "We met about four years ago at a tattoo party. She has about 60 percent of her body tattooed, a forked tongue, and implants on her forehead. She even does body suspension."
Debi, who is also a tattoo artist, and Marcelo, who has over 1,500 tattoos on his body, met at an event but initially decided to remain friends. Last year, the connection proved too strong and they began a romantic relationship.
Marcelo, who is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, said: "We've been together for a while now. And this is my first relationship with someone who also has modifications. We get along really well and people always say they admire us when we're together. They say we're the perfect couple."
He also claims that they are even admired in public: "People on social media always adore us. And on the streets, in the subway, wherever we are. People always come up to us with a smile on their face and talk to us."
Marcelo has previously spoken about the reactions he gets from people about his contradictory appearance. He added: "I am happy with what I have done and my family does not stop me because they know that I work on my body and appearance. I always attract attention wherever I go and people are always curious to know if the changes are real. I get photos and videos of me. People are usually amazed and surprised when they see so many tattoos. They are stunned by the look and I do not regret it at all. I don't even miss my index finger and all my modifications already seem so natural. It feels like I was born like this."
