In Russia, a driver died when a crane fell at the construction site of a high-rise building (3 photos + 2 videos)
For some reason, there were no special stops on the rails, and the equipment rolled out of the rail track.
The emergency occurred at a construction site in the 148th microdistrict of the Oktyabrsky district of Ulan-Ude. Ironically, the crane operator who was supposed to be working suddenly fell ill and asked a colleague to relieve him for the day. The replacement once worked in this construction organization, but quit a year ago, but maintained good relations with his colleagues, and therefore could not refuse his friend’s request.
“The man climbed into the crane cabin and began to operate it. There were no wheel chocks or other anti-theft devices on the crane tracks (rails). The crane fell while moving and leaving the rail track,” reports the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The moment the equipment fell was captured by one of the outdoor CCTV cameras.
The crane operator died on the spot from his injuries.
The investigation is conducting an investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident.
Employees of the prosecutor's office intend to find out how safety standards were met at the construction site. Everyone is also interested in the question of how an officially idle crane operator could get onto the construction site.
