According to Shayna, she returned home and, as usual, approached King to hug him. The pet did not growl, did not retreat, and did not make any warning sounds: the dog simply pounced on the owner and bit her face.
An American woman lost her nose after an attack by her own dog, and now she is forced to decide his fate. Shayna Crimo, 31, the owner of an 11-year-old leopard dog named King, got him when he was a puppy and in all the years of their life together, she has not encountered aggression from her pet. However, on January 18, the situation changed dramatically. The woman returned home after drawing class and decided to pet the dog, but as she approached, King suddenly attacked and bit off part of her nose.
Shocked and bleeding, Krymo screamed, calling on her boyfriend to call emergency services. Doctors immediately warned that plastic surgery would be necessary, and she underwent the first one on the day of hospitalization. King's attack occurred at a difficult time for the woman: shortly before that, she decided to euthanize her second pet, a 13-year-old pit bull named Kryeo, who was diagnosed with cancer. Now she faces another difficult choice - to keep the dog, which poses a potential threat, or resort to euthanasia.
Krimo admitted that she is ready to take responsibility and live with the risk, but she understands that in the future, someone close to her will have to look after King, and this could become a threat to other people. Due to the high cost of medical treatment and the upcoming long recovery, the woman organized a fundraiser.
The woman emphasized that ahead of her lies not only expensive plastic surgery, but also months of rehabilitation, including psychological.
