A buffalo, which was supposed to be sacrificed, gored a man to death
A resident of Ulu Tiram (Johor, Malaysia) fell victim to an enraged water buffalo that suddenly charged into a crowd of people.
One of the crowd, a 45-year-old man, was unable to escape, and the animal knocked him down, striking him hard with its horns. Although the stranger later attempted to rise, it was only a semblance of safety. The man's injuries proved too severe, and he died.
The water buffalo that killed the man was originally intended to be sacrificed for Eid al-Adha (Eid al-Adha). During the holiday, ritual slaughtering of animals and distribution of the meat to the poor is held in mosques and community centers across Malaysia. No one could have predicted that this celebratory sacrifice would turn into an unexpected tragedy.
