Public concerns are growing in Japan over men in silicone anime costumes (5 photos)
Groups of men dressed in feminine, cosplay-inspired attire now ride public transport in a silicone woman suit, sit in cafes, and walk around tourist spots. They scare people, in short, especially girls.
Some masks are, of course, intentionally made to be creepy like from horror movies
"Tight men"
This phenomenon already has a name, they are called "tight men" or rather "tightly drawn" because they wear tight silicone bodysuits, masks, everything to emphasize their figure, they literally tighten themselves with these corsets and outfits to fit a different type of figure.
The girl filmed that she didn't immediately realize that there was a man behind this costume
Internet sources suggest that their outfits are inspired by Animegao Kigurumi, a masked cosplay style. Fans of Animegao Kigurumi usually wear bodysuits and anthropomorphic masks to portray their favorite anime characters at anime conventions.
But now they are increasingly being spotted in the subway and on the streets, away from any cosplay gatherings.
People didn't even immediately realize that all these girls in masks are actually men. And this made everyone feel creepy, that they quietly sat down and sat in the same subway opposite or next to the girls and looked at them for a long time. Some wear black tights with masks that hide their facial features.
They are very willing to pose for photos, because their identity remains hidden
One of the scandalous figures in this new movement, known as Rin, publicly admitted on live television that she is in fact biologically male. This man repeatedly went into women's toilets in a bodysuit and masks, asking strangers to take pictures of him there!
He claimed that he did it for fun, but denied that he harmed anyone. But what really scares girls is that someone in a suit with a strange voice asks them to take pictures of him in a women's restroom where there is no one else.
Is this even legal?
You can tell from the veins in his legs that the man is not young
Wearing masks – yes. Remember the culture of "one-eyed masks"? Also a form of transformation and escape from reality. But they take pictures in parks and supermarkets.
Unlawful entry into a women's restroom carries a maximum penalty of up to three years in prison or a fine of up to 100,000 yen or $6,000 in Japan. But no one has been arrested yet, because they still have to prove who is really under the mask, and that's the problem.
These masks are popular at cosplay events, I don't like them, but the Japanese seem to really
In Japan, it's only illegal to hide your identity to commit crimes, but in everyday life it's not forbidden. That's why everyone is a little scared now when these men dressed as women sit down next to them.
This is both very funny and a little creepy. What do you find more funny or creepy?
