A young woman on a bicycle nearly drowned trying to cross a flooded bridge

After heavy monsoon rains, a bridge in Sabino Canyon, Arizona, was submerged underwater. A 20-year-old woman and her family decided to ride a bicycle across it, but she lost her balance and was caught in a strong current.

She was held underwater for several minutes while relatives and bystanders tried to pull her out. She was eventually retrieved unconscious and revived. Another woman ended up in the torrent and was dragged under the bridge, after which the current carried her out about 30 meters from the scene.
