In the US, a school principal stopped an armed attacker and protected students.

An incident occurred in Oklahoma that could have become one of the deadliest school tragedies in the United States if not for the principal's quick response. Kirk Moore, principal of Pauls Valley High School, single-handedly subdued a 20-year-old former student who was armed with two semiautomatic pistols.
The incident occurred on April 7 at approximately 2:20 PM local time. The attacker, Victor Lee Hawkins, burst into the school lobby, shouting "everyone down!" and pointed his gun at a student. Fortunately, the bullet missed her. Sensing danger from his office, Kirk Moore, without hesitation, ran into the hall and lunged at the attacker just as he was aiming at another student.
During the struggle, Hawkins fired several shots, one of which hit the principal in the right leg. Despite his wound, Moore, along with a colleague who came to his aid, managed to subdue the attacker before the police arrived.
"I have no doubt he saved the lives of children," said local police Chief Don May.
Investigators discovered that the attacker was obsessed with the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. According to Special Agent Meric Moussette, Hawkins stole a gun from his father and planned to "carry out his own school shooting, just like the Columbine killers did." It was also revealed that the attacker harbored a personal grudge against the principal.
The heroic teacher himself is currently recovering after being hospitalized.
"Like many educators across the country, we prepare for events like this through training and thorough threat assessments. I'm grateful that my instincts and preparation, as well as the hand of God, were by my side," Kirk Moore said in a statement.
Hawkins is currently in custody. He faces charges of shooting with intent to kill and unlawful possession of a weapon. His trial is scheduled for May 8, and his bail is set at $1 million.
