In Italy, a schoolboy threw a statue from the fourth floor. She fell on a tourist
In Italy, the trial related to the death of a 30-year-old tourist has reopened. The woman was walking along a street in Naples when a small statue fell on her head. A 13-year-old schoolboy dropped the two-kilogram statue from a fourth-story building.
The incident occurred in the Quartieri Spagnoli (Spanish Quarters), one of the city's most famous and frequently visited areas. The victim was taken to the hospital, but her life could not be saved.
The investigation determined that the 13-year-old was the culprit. The court initially exonerated the boy due to his age.
The case has now been reopened, and the prosecutor's office has charged his parents with causing death by negligence.
The authorities' position is that the parents were obligated to provide adequate supervision of the minor's behavior. The investigation believes that the lack of supervision allowed the teenager to commit a dangerous act that resulted in death.
