Referee brutally beaten after match in Argentina: attack caught on video

A shocking incident occurred after an amateur football league playoff match in the Argentine city of Bahía Blanca. Immediately after the final whistle, several fans ran onto the field and attacked 20-year-old referee Victoria Cruz. She was pushed to the ground, punched, and dragged by the hair—the entire incident was captured on video and quickly shared on social media.

According to preliminary reports, the fans' dissatisfaction with the refereeing was the cause of the violence. The attack was only stopped after police intervention. The referee temporarily lost consciousness, and one of the footballers who tried to protect her was hospitalized. Law enforcement is currently identifying all those involved in the attack and conducting an investigation.
