A bear attack on an old woman was caught on video
In Japan, a bear attacked an 82-year-old woman in Akita Prefecture. Fortunately, tragedy was averted.
The incident occurred in the city of Daisen on October 8 and was recorded by CCTV cameras. The footage shows a small bear quickly approaching the elderly woman, who, according to the Akita Broadcasting System (ABS), was out for a walk. The animal struck the screaming Japanese woman with its paws, then attempted to attack again, before running to the other side of the street and hiding among the bushes.
Moments later, a car pulled up next to the woman, and she got in and drove away. The driver took the elderly woman to the hospital. She suffered minor injuries. According to ABS, the attack occurred in a densely populated area of the city, home to many residential and commercial buildings.
