A scooter hit a pedestrian and ended up costing $20,000

Last July in St. Petersburg, a scooter hit a 65-year-old woman getting off a bus. As a result, the victim spent six months in the hospital with multiple bone fractures. The scooter driver was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm through negligence (118.1 of the Criminal Code). Now the prosecutor has appealed to the court to recover from the culprit compensation for moral damage, material damage and lost earnings of almost 20 thousand dollars.
