Racing around the city is no good
A Skoda car was moving along Lenin Street when an ambulance with flashing lights turned on drove across the street. A Toyota Hilux walking to the right of the Skoda swerved to the left. Avoiding the collision, the Czech car demolished the road fence, drove into the oncoming lane and then onto the sidewalk, where it hit a 40-year-old female pedestrian and crashed into the building of the regional philharmonic society, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The woman who was hit was taken to the hospital. Another woman, 30 years old, who happened to be near the scene of the accident, was injured - she was hit by a fragment of a metal fence demolished by a car that flew off to the side.
“The second victim went to the hospital on her own and was released home after receiving the necessary assistance,” the police said.
