British tourists got into a bloody fight in Crete. Apparently, the women were fighting over a local gentleman. The brawl took place in the center of Malia, 20 km east of Heraklion.
A passerby filmed the ladies hitting each other multiple times. The woman in white was pulling her rival by the hair, beating her, and she was just waving her arms.
The tourists' identities have not yet been established.
The footage shows a woman in black with blood on her face, sitting on the pavement and trying to come to her senses.
The British are increasingly demonstrating inappropriate behavior at resorts: drunkenness, fights, public nudity.
Last year, Greece saw a "towel movement" as thousands of locals protested against the exorbitant prices for sun loungers.
Now, authorities are using drones and satellite images to tighten their grip on new rules that require up to 70% of beaches to be free, and umbrellas and sun loungers to be kept at least four metres from the sea.
Retiree Evgenia Rapti, who has a summer home near Pefkohori beach, complained: "The whole beach is occupied by tables, chairs and sun loungers. When we bought our house 40 years ago, everything was completely different. The beach was empty and it was nice to lie on it."
