A passenger car and a freight train collided near the Royka railway station in the Kstovsky district. The driver of the VAZ-2107 car decided not to stand at the traffic signal like everyone else, but to drive around in the oncoming lane. The plan failed. As a result of a collision with a train, a passenger in the car died. The driver was hospitalized in extremely serious condition. The Transport Investigative Committee also noted that the train drivers tried to apply emergency braking, but could not prevent a collision with the car.
