In China, a depressed rat publicly committed suicide

A worker was working on the upper floors of a building under construction the other day when he noticed a rat. After pacing around for a moment, the rodent walked up to the very edge and looked down intently, as if gauging the height. And then bravely jumped.

The animal landed on the roof of an annex, writhed in agony, and died. Presumably suicide due to severe depressive disorder.
