In India, hurricane-force winds lifted a man more than 50 meters into the air.
The most amazing thing is that the man survived.
An incredible incident, the envy of Bollywood, occurred in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. During a storm, a man was thrown more than 50 meters into the air. But the most amazing thing isn't the flight, but the man's survival.
During the raging storm, a local resident was trying to stay on the ground and, in desperation, made the mistake of grabbing onto an overturned tin awning. However, a stronger gust of wind lifted the tall structure into the sky, taking the man with it.
The man reportedly survived, surprising even medical workers. He suffered multiple fractures and is in serious but stable condition. Doctors suspect that the man's life was likely saved by the very awning into whose debris he fell.
However, not everyone is as lucky as the hero of the viral video. According to local media, at least 104 people have died as a result of the storm that struck Uttar Pradesh. State Disaster Relief Commissioner Harikesh Bhaskar said the storm raged in various areas for 36 to 48 hours. During this time, hurricane-force winds ripped roofs off houses, uprooted trees, and toppled power lines, leaving entire villages without power.
Against the backdrop of the storm, the Russian president sent a telegram of condolences to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
