A doctor found a live spider in a patient's ear
A spider crawled into the ear of an Ivano-Frankivsk resident while she was sleeping, reached her eardrum, and remained. The intruder was discovered during an examination.
During an examination in Ivano-Frankivsk, doctors found a live spider in a patient's ear. The spider had penetrated quite deeply, almost to the eardrum. The woman had complained of pain and congestion in her left ear, but the spider was unexpectedly discovered in her right ear. The doctor explained that such cases are more common during the warmer months.
She also emphasized that earwax plays an important protective role. Wax traps dust, microorganisms, and small insects. Excessive cleaning of the external auditory canal can deprive the ear of this natural barrier.
