In Brazil, former inmate João Ferreira was shot to death shortly after his release from prison. The killer's gun misfired three times.
On Wednesday, December 10, the man was shot in front of a hotel.
The victim was sentenced to 42 years for the rape and murder of an ice cream vendor and for the sexual assault of another child. The second boy managed to escape and report the crime to the police.
The pedophile received an additional 10 years for a separate crime. He served 20 years and was released on parole.
