In the Congo, rapper MC Baba has become a star, who differs from other musicians in that he is deaf and mute. His tracks consist of a series of squeals and screams over beats, but this does not prevent him from being popular.
Unlike his colleagues, he does not even pretend that he has hearing and a voice. He's just deaf and dumb. But at the same time he “sings”. And many people like it.
The performer has been on stage for more than three years, and last year he released the hit “Oko Lela Epa Ya Nani,” which roughly translates as “For whom will you cry.” Critics say the song "doesn't use words, but a series of rhythmic sounds that convey deep emotions."
