US police open fire on a depressed man with autism who was wielding a knife

The father of 20-year-old Daniel contacted the police. The young man was supposed to take his medication that day, but he failed to do so and went missing. Police officers found the disabled man and began urging him to hand over the knife and go home.
As it later turned out, the young man had decided to take his own life. Law enforcement officers told Daniel that they did not want to arrest or kill him. The young man did not believe them, bolted, and ran. Police officers opened fire on him.
